We're Grateful for You!

From our staff, volunteers, animals, and guests, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. But most of all, we are thankful for you, our loyal supporters!

Your Impact...

You helped make so many great things happen this year to set your Butterfly House & Aquarium up for future success.

Thanks to your support, we added new fencing in the Butterfly Conservatory, created a new 'Under the Dock' aquarium display, placed our animal ambassadors on exhibit, and hosted in-person field trips for the first time since 2019!

But our biggest accomplishment will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this December. Your financial generosity has kept our doors open for education and discovery for two decades!

Without your support, none of these ventures would be possible.

Our brand new Under the Dock exhibit features yellow stingrays and a variety of other exotic fish species.

New fencing in the butterfly conservatory allows for the return of buttonquail and provides a safe area for our turtles.

Animal ambassadors are now on exhibit, giving the public even more to see, including a carpet python, goliath birdeater tarantula, giant African stick mantis, and African fire skink!

3,665 kindergarten through fifth grade students visited this year on field trips free of charge thanks to the generous funding of Mr. Joe Floyd.

Our Work Is Far From Over!

As we embark on new projects and education efforts, inflation is on the rise.

Rising Costs1

Rising Costs

In 2022 alone, we have seen significant increases in costs to our most vital areas. Sea salt for our marine exhibits is up 18% and utilities used to heat the Butterfly Conservatory and maintain stable habitats in the aquarium have increased by over 20%.
Increasing Demand

Increasing Demand

Demand for the Aquarium for All access program has increased significantly from 2021 to 2022 as well.

Providing $3.00 individual admission or $15.00 annual family memberships to families who qualify for WIC, SNAP Head Start, or Medicaid, Aquarium for All usage has nearly tripled in the past year.

This program is funded solely by donations, and your gifts ensure the Butterfly House & Aquarium is accessible to all children.

Help Us Continue Our Journey

We need your help to improve the Butterfly House & Aquarium, to provide the best care for our animals, to ensure access for all families, and to create meaningful connections to the natural world for guests of all ages.

We greatly appreciate your past and future financial support. Your continued contribution makes it possible for the Butterfly House & Aquarium to truly be a place for all.
