Butterfly House & Aquarium internships are volunteer-based, part-time, and seasonal. University credit for internships can be earned in most cases. Applications are accepted year-round.

Conservatory Internship
This internship will assist the Biologists with daily care and maintenance of small animal exhibits and the butterfly conservatory, as well as processing weekly shipments of butterfly chrysalis. Interns work specifically in horticulture, ambassador animal care, and with the butterflies.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain unique and practical experience in the aquarium field for the purpose of developing a solid foundation for a future career in the aquarium or marine research industry. Interns work specifically with the aquatic animals and team of Aqauarists.

This internship is specific to the management of the Volunteer Program. Interns work directly under the volunteer coordinator to assist with daily activities around the facility, volunteer groups, and volunteers on-site. Interns learn healthy communication styles and the process of recruitment, training, and retention for a volunteer program in a non-profit organization.
