Internship Opportunities

Butterfly House & Aquarium internships are unpaid, part-time and seasonal, and require a time commitment specified by the applicable department. University credit for internships can be earned in most cases. To be considered, applicants must complete the intern application.

Ecology Internship
Primary Duties: Assisting the Biologist with daily care and maintenance of small animal exhibits Completing accurate records pertaining to animal husbandry Providing proper care

Greet and orient field trip groups – visiting schools, non-school youth groups, instruct interactive, creative, age-appropriate onsite classes for school and youth groups, and provide instructional and logistical support for out-of-school camps and classes.

Lepidoptera Internship
As a Lepidoptera Intern, you will be asked to assist the Biologist with daily care and maintenance of the butterfly conservatory, process weekly shipments of butterfly chrysalides and much, much more.

Interns will facilitate documentation of the ongoing changes of exhibit habitats, from chemical acclimation to behavioral compatibility of tank specimens.

Marketing Internship
The Butterfly House & Aquarium Marketing Department is seeking a summer Marketing Intern to assist with a wide variety of projects. The qualified intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad exposure and experience in various aspects of marketing.
